Why a Maltipoo
Three things people fall for, every single time.
Maltipoos inherit a low-shedding, wavy to curly coat from their Poodle side and a soft, silky texture from the Maltese side. It rarely sheds heavily, and a brush two or three times a week keeps it looking full and tangle-free.
At 5 to 20 pounds fully grown, Maltipoos don't need a yard to be happy, just a walk, some playtime, and a person to be near. They're affectionate, adaptable, and settle into small spaces and first-time-owner households without much fuss. The honest tradeoff for that closeness: they do best when someone's home most of the day, so it's worth reading how much alone time is realistic before you commit.
Maltipoos are quick learners, food-motivated enough to train easily, and social enough to get along with kids, other dogs, and near-strangers at the dog park. They tend to bond closely with their people and love being included in whatever you're doing.
Allergic to dogs?
Maltipoos are low-shedding and often better tolerated by people with mild dog allergies. No dog is truly hypoallergenic, and it varies by coat and by generation, but a lot of allergy sufferers who reacted to other dogs do fine around a Maltipoo.
